What it is
Einstein is Salesforce's umbrella AI platform, built directly into the CRM rather than bolted on as a separate tool. It analyzes your Salesforce data to surface predictive scores (like lead likelihood to convert), automate next-best-action suggestions, and generate content like email drafts or case summaries. Over time it has expanded from predictive analytics into generative AI, with Einstein Copilot and Einstein GPT features now woven throughout the platform.
Why it matters
Einstein was Salesforce's first major AI push - lead scoring, opportunity insights, next best actions. It's still relevant but now sits alongside (and powers parts of) Agentforce. Think of Einstein as the AI brain, Agentforce as the AI hands.
Einstein features
- Einstein Lead Scoring
- Einstein Opportunity Insights
- Einstein Activity Capture
- Einstein GPT (now evolving into Agentforce)
How it connects
Einstein provides the predictive and generative intelligence that Agentforce agents draw on when making decisions or taking actions — so when an agent qualifies a lead or resolves a case autonomously, Einstein's models are often doing the reasoning underneath.
Good to know
Einstein features vary significantly by Salesforce edition and cloud — some predictive tools require minimum data thresholds to produce reliable scores, so smaller orgs may see limited value until their data matures.
